The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recently expressed his vision for India-China relations during a podcast with Lex Fridman. “He emphasized the need to encourage healthy rivalry between the two countries”.

“The differences naturally arise from “Proximity”. However, it is important to ensure that these do not turn into conflict,” he said. He further underscored the historical ties between China & India…

He emphasised their shared Cultural & Economic background. “And, also, urged for an emphasis on dialogue rather than conflict.”

He also dealt with the existing Border Conflict. Particularly, as a result of the 2020 “Line of Actual Control” clashes… He said that recent diplomatic efforts have helped bring normalcy.

He discussed his October 2024 meeting with the Chinese President (Xi Jinping) ; which he feels helped prepare the ground for bringing back situations to Pre-2020 levels.

Trust, passion and energy have to return gradually.
