The Diwali festival has ended, but, the aftermath is still not over in our city…The air, once clear and transparent, is now filled with pollutants from the countless fireworks that exploded during the festival… This reminds us that no matter “how enjoyable our actions may be, they can still impact the environment”.

When I was a child, “I have learned that fireworks are harmful”… The bright flashes & explosions that occur when fireworks go off can be fascinating; but they release toxic substances into the air. These pollutants, includes sulfur dioxide & nitrogen oxides; it contribute to air pollution and affect our health and the planet…

Despite this knowledge, the practice continues; sometimes, even those we look up to encourage it. It wasn’t very pleasant to see public officials, who are supposed to set an example, participating in fireworks displays. Their participation sends a contradictory message to the public and undermines efforts to promote environmentally friendly practices.
