Do you ever think about how some people walk faster than others?

It looks like people who walk quickly might be doing something good for their health. “A recent study found that people who walk faster, are much less likely to get diabetes & high blood pressure”.

The Researchers from Japan’s (Doshisha University) led this study, which had almost 25,000 people take part. It was a simple question: “Is your walking speed faster than what is normal for your age and gender?” The results were a big surprise.

Lower your risk of getting diabetes & high blood pressure

Diabetes is about 30% less likely to happen to people who walk quickly than to people who walk more slowly… They also show a small but significant drop in the risk of high blood pressure & bad cholesterol. (Abnormal lipid levels in the blood).
